Best Holiday Destinations for March!
The month of March is one of the better ones on the calendar for travelers since it's well before the summer season in the Northern Hemisphere and the winter crowds in the tropical areas are starting to thin out at the same time.
Spring vacations offer a great opportunity to shake off the rust from a long winter and enjoy some new sights, sounds, and experiences. The arrival of warmer weather is the perfect time to get outside and commune with nature, explore the city, and engage with the world’s great historic and cultural treasures.

Hurghada, if haven't heard about it is the second largest city in Egypt. Hurghada is a prime tourist spot due to its Red Sea coastal location.
It has one of the Red Sea's leading seaside resorts, the city receives around 8 daily sunshine hours during the month alongside an average maximum temperature of 21.9 ºC; relatively cool in comparison to the scorching months of summer in other parts of the world.
Stunning coral reefs and turquoise waters perfect for windsurfing have made Hurghada, a busy resort town. Within easy reach of the stunning Giftun Islands and the Eastern Arabian Desert, Hurghada has seen enormous amounts of development in the past decade. But it’s a relatively easy beach escape for Europeans, and some of the world's best diving and snorkeling sites are just offshore. Walk or catch a cab to explore the old quarter, El Dahar.
Crete is one of the largest Greek islands and a favorite spot because of the its location in the south of the Greek Islands making it often warmer.
In March in Crete begins to warm up at 20°C . It's often warmer than this but remember this is March and you can't be expecting the same heat as it gets in May.
It's an island of beaches, and whichever resort you choose to stay in there's no need to just stay on that beach, explore a little and take a wander or boat trip to the next beaches along and see Crete at its best.
Fondly referred to as the 'Queen of the Hills', Darjeeling in West Bengal in India is a perfect getaway from chaotic city life during the month of March.
Known all round the clock for its aromatic tea and lush tea estates, Darjeeling houses the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Darjeeling Himalayan Railway that is more popular as the toy train. Its splendid weather, a number of tourist attractions, exotic wildlife, monasteries and lush scenic beauty attracts tourists every year in decent numbers. For adventure enthusiasts, there are plenty of adventure activities.
Boracay Island, Philippines
You may not have heard of Boracay Island in the Philippines yet, and there are plenty of people who’d rather keep in that way. This small resort island feels like Phuket might have 30 years ago, where pretty much the only way to get around is to stroll along the sand path along White Beach. This place feels modern and there are a few chain restaurants, but generally this island feels far more relaxed and old school than the famous beach resorts in Asia.
One thing that Boracay Island lacks is super-cheap hotels, but many people prefer to NOT have the backpacker crowd mixed in. Still, hotel value is excellent, especially considering that pretty much every hotel on the island is within a 2-minute walk of the sand, or it’s up in the hills with gorgeous views. Those looking for a new place to relax in March should consider Boracay, at least until it really catches on in a few years.
Nature-lovers will want to get to the park when the weather is warm and welcoming, the skier, however, will want to vacation in the height of winter. Depending on what you want to do, Banff can be seen as an almost year-round destination.
Although snow falls every month, December to March is the peak period for skiing. Day temperatures will rarely surpass 32 degrees Fahrenheit until mid-March and will dive toward zero at night. Note that temperatures change quickly and vary radically on different mountains. You'll want to secure a hotel early to visit at this time; and avoid the holidays if you're on a budget.
